Day 1

Depart Canada or USA and board your flight to either Queretaro , Leon or Mexico City. Transfer by shared or private service  from Queretaro to San Miguel in about 1h15 min. and 1h30 min from Leon. You may want to fly to Mexico City and take a 3.5 hour bus with ETN in a comfortable business class type seat or again hire a private driver with door to door service for less than 250 USD. Dinner and overnight at your hotel, airbnb or private villa.

Day 2

Start your day with a delicious Chilaquiles breakfast and head out on foot to explore the old town. Opt for a free sightseeing tour offered by the local library or hire a private guide that will dive deep into the local history. Learn how San Miguel de Allende got its name and how it played an important role in the war of independence. Lunch suggestion with awe inspiring view at Atrio restaurant.

Day 3

For such a small city, San Miguel de Allende has impressive art. Everywhere. Choose a walking tour of the impressive street art in Colonia Guadalupe or visit the many artist studios and see how they work. Art tours SMA curate art tours with many of the local artists and can organize private workshops, tequila or wine with cheese included! Next, head to the northern part of the city for a fabulous lunch at Hierba Santa Cocina   then  hop across the street to the Fabrica Aurora  for viewing( and maybe purchasing) some very unique art pieces.   Tonight, enjoy dinner in one of our favourite artsy spots, Cafe Rama.

Day 4

Total Relax and relaxation day at the Mayan thermal baths. Make it a full day with lunch and cocktails.  Relax at one of the thermal pools overlooking the mountains or take in a nice massage. Dinner suggestion at the iconic rooftop,  Quince restaurant.

Day 5

Visit local wineries today such as Dos Buhos or opt to go on a wine and food tour with Epicurean Expats who are local experts and will customise everything around your own epicurean preferences. Discover the many flavours of the region. Dinner suggestion at the very epicurean Aperi.

Day 6

Enjoy a half day excursion to learn about the local Otomi people and their traditions. You will be welcomed by the locals and witness the selection of the seeds, the sowing of the seeds and the thanking for the crop ceremonies.  You will enjoy a  traditional meal made with local organic products grown locally by the community including the traditional stamped tortillas ( hundreds of years old method) . Dinner and drinks at one of our favourites rooftops with Dj, Bekeb bar at Hotel Hoyos.

Day 7

Enjoy a bit of adventure today in the local canyons by horseback with Cayote Canyon Adventures. Make your way to Canada de la Virgen Pyramids during your ride and learn about the Peralta (Abasolo) and Plazuelas (Pénjamo) archaeological sites with a specialized archaeologist and anthropologists guide. Lunch in the region and dinner with a view at the Luna Bar.

Day 8

Brunch this morning is hosted at Casa No Name. Set in a balinese-mexican decor, the hostess Lourdes is always on hand to look over her guests.  The food and decor are divine and the atmosphere is relaxed and very cozy.

Next, opt for some shopping time or head out to the picturesque town of Pena de Bernal for some sightseeing and hiking.

Climb your way up to  its enormous monolith of massive rock, the Peña de Bernal, the third highest on the planet.

Dinner and Drinks at another of San Miguel’s iconic rooftops, La Unica.

Day 9

Early morning transfer today to catch your flight back to Canada or USA.
